From the Deck

The SCAQ workout at the El Segundo Wiseburn Aquatic Center was cancelled today, so I took myself to the Culver City Plunge for a solo swim. I think the last time I swam without SCAQ was my xxx visit to the John Argue Swim Stadium (with the 42.something) lane lengths. Even though I love my workouts with SCAQ, it was good to be reminded that I can have a solid workout without any coaching.

  • 600 free

  • 10 x 50 free, alternate 50 pull with 50 swim

  • 200 kick, no fins

  • 400 kick, with fins

  • 6 x 100, alternate free/back with free/breast

  • 100 free cool down

I am also happy to report my left ear cleared up by Wednesday, and no flare-up occurred after this morning’s swim. I am so relieved that it didn’t evolve into a full on infection. I’m not a big fan of taking pills, so I really appreciated it when my body heals itself.
