Culver City Plunge
The Culver City Plunge was opened August 31, 1949 and is part of Culver City’s Veteran’s Memorial Park. The facility is an outdoor year-round pool and offers lap swimming in both short and Olympic lengths. The pool itself is always clean but seems to run on the cooler side. Lanes are frequently rented out to private clubs and private school athletic programs.
Santa Monica Swim Center
The Santa Monica Swim Center opened as a new pool in 2002. It is located at the Santa Monica Community College campus along Pico Boulevard and is one of three public pools in Santa Monica. There are two big pools here: one is entirely a fitness pool meant for swimming and diving and the other is a shallower recreation pool for families and kids. The rec pool also offers lap swim lanes.
John Argue Swim Stadium
The LA84 Foundation/John Argue Swim Stadium, previously called the Los Angeles Swimming Stadium, was built for the 1932 Summer Olympics. The facility was renamed in 2003 to honor the LA84 Foundation and John Argue (a LA based lawyer instrumental in bringing the Games to Los Angeles in 1984.) This pool is owned by the City of LA and operates year round.
Glassell Park Pool
The Glassell Park Pool is located within a larger recreation facility in the neighborhood of Glassell Park. This outdoor pool is open year-round and, while older than many of the other facilities, has great water quality, lots of lap lanes even with the recreational swim scene, and a good crowd.
