First Swim of the Week: #finlessfriday

Oh man, oh man: this week’s schedule has been topsy turvey and today’s swim was my first since last Sunday! Yikes! I have been keeping pace with a few runs which has been nice; the Nike Run Club app has informed me this week I accumulated more mileage than any other week this year. Ha!! The app doesn’t know about my swimming habit….

As with my previous #finlessfriday swims, I was the last swimmer in the line-up. Despite not swimming all week, I managed to hold my place and keep up with the sets. It was a gray morning and about 58 degrees, so this definitely felt like a good winter swim! Well, “winter” swim; this is Los Angeles, after all.

With the upcoming holidays, my plan is to get one more swim in tomorrow, then hopefully two swims in between Christmas and New Year’s, and then back to normal.

Today’s workout:

  • 400 free warm-up

  • 8 x 50 freestyle

  • 6 x 50 kick

  • 300 free

  • 4 x 50 free

  • 300 free

  • 6 x 50 free

  • 4 x 50 free, sprints
