Oh Hi Culver City!

I spent my day in Orange County and managed to get back to LA by 4:45 pm, so instead of waiting around for the 6 pm SCAQ workout at USC, I went home to change and then headed to the 6 pm SCAQ workout at the Culver Plunge!

It was a great visit back. The pool is much cooler, temperature wise, then USC so the swim was very refreshing. I shared the lane with two ladies who were both just a bit faster than me and I managed to mostly keep up! I recognized one of the ladies from the WOWSA Ocean Swim on Saturday (she was in the experienced class) so I chatted with her about my experience swimming for the first time. She shared that she had only been swimming in the ocean for a year, but loves it so much and when she hasn’t been in more than a week, feels a strong pull to head back into it. I love the idea of the ocean pulling us swimmers back in for another round; it feels like the earth wants to love us a bit.

Anyway, the workout was also good:

  • 400 free warm-up

  • 3 rounds, 75, 50, 25 free, mixed with kick

  • 4 rounds: 200, 150, 100, 50 (we missed the last 50)
