Rainy Morning Swim

For some time now, the weather forecast has shown four days of rain, in a row, here in Los Angeles. This is amazing for many reasons. Of course, SoCal desperately needs rain and snow in the mountains, and the rain will reduce the need for irrigation (adjust those timers, folks!), and our aquifers and groundwater can be just a little bit more full, and the wildflower seeds I scattered in all the garden beds outside my patio will have a higher chance of germination, BUT, the best reasons is that swimming in the rain is awesome.

The sounds of raindrops is spectacularly soothing, and when you are swimming a steamy pool that is warm, and you feel those little tiny cold drops of water on your face and arms, a feeling of exhilaration is added. We had a pretty steady primary swim set today, but ended with sprints. Sprints are usually not my thing, but Iā€™m pretty sure the exhilaration from those rain drops made me kick ass. I owned those sprints! Woo!
