Wednesday Evening SCAQ Swim

Tonight’s swim was really good, but very tiring. Before I jumped in, I was talking with the Coach, and I asked her to bring a pair of fins with her on the Friday workout. I think I’m finally curious about them and hope they will help me improve my butterfly and backstroke techniques.

The focus on backstroke tonight really underlines this very issue: I can do a 50 back with no problem, but a 100 backstroke is a killer. I was really struggling on the last round of the main set, but I made it through.

Fingers crossed that next week, I have the fins…I’ll be looking forward to trying them out on some butterfly!

The Workout:

  • 400 free
  • 3 rounds, 100 free, 50 back, 50 back/free
  • 3 rounds: 200 free, 100 free, 100 IM, 100 back, 100 back/free
