Long Time, No Post

Well, it’s been a minute since my last workout post. Ok, it’s been a couple minutes. OK…it’s been almost two months.

Life has pitched me quite a few changes since last October. Good changes! And many of them came about because of my own planning. I started a new job, one that is way more engaging than my previous one. As a result, I am quite busy, and by the time I get home, have absolutely no desire to be online. Ha! I also started taking the Expo Line to work , so have a slightly longer commute time. This has let me read and finish all kinds of books…but also takes more time from home.

The new job caused me to change the time of my swim. i went from 6:00 pm evening swims at USC to 6:30 am morning swims at Culver. Now that I’m used to this time, and adjusted to waking up early, I’m totally happy with it.

My weekly workout schedule has also changed. Over the last two months, I have been hiking once a week to train for an upcoming trip to New Zealand. The hike is on the weekend, on a day I would usually swim. It’s been a welcome switch-up and also an opportunity to re-awaken forgotten muscles from my days of training to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.

In any case…here is this morning’s swim! It was IM focused, and a good challenge at mixing up all of the strokes.

  • 350 free warm-up

  • 2 rounds, 50 kick, 100 IM/free, 100 free

  • 4 rounds, 150 IM, 100 free, 50 IM/free

  • 200 breath control

  • 50 back
